Fall

Last weekend we went to see my parents and my sister and her family. My parents took us to a big orchard for lots of fun! Thanks to Nana and Papaw for a great time! We love you!

Here are pictures of what we did:

My parents' neighbors happened to be pony-sitting for friends. The kids had fun feeding her. Of course, they now want a pony.

We also bought apples, which I made into pies once we got home. Yuh-uh-uh-mmy! There are not many things I like more than cool weather and the first apple pie of fall. That signals the beginning of my hands-down favorite time of the year. The time between the first pie and New Year's Day is, for me, a season just filled with lots of warm feelings and fun times with the family.

We might have to steal some leaves from somebody's yard this year. We used to always make a big pile for the kids to jump in at our old place. Now we have pine trees. Needles don't make very good jumping piles.

Our next door neighbors do have a blow-up little haunted house that the kids like, though.

Notice Jack's outfit. Baseball pants and sandals. That same day, Lily was running around the house in her underwear and decided she wanted to go outside. She put her clothes on.

Sweater inside out? Check. Sweater backwards? Check. Shoes on the wrong feet? Check. One pants leg rolled up? Check. OK, ready to play.

I hope you are off to as wonderful of a fall season as we are. Lots of good times and good food ahead! Do you have any fun fall traditions with your family? I'd love to hear about them.
